WILL TROUT BE THE ONE TO STOP COTTO’S MSG WIN STREAK?

The time has come for Austin”No Doubt” Trout to step on to the biggest stage of his career in Madison Square Garden to take on Miguel Cotto. Can Trout be the one to win against Cotto in the most unlikely of places.

The match-up may still wind up being a strange pick to many considering Cotto had his pick of better opponents. Most notably Manny Pacquiao.I guess at this point it is not about money for Cotto and I applaud him for picking a new opponent instead of just picking the highest paid fight.Nobody wanted to see him fight Pacman at a catchweight anyway.Although even at a catchweight, I don’t see Pacman being the machine he was in 2009.He has slowed down and lost power in recent bouts.Austin Trout is a very skilled fighter with good movement and quickness. He doesn’t have alot of power and that is what I see being his biggest problem.Even if Trout wins more rounds than Cotto there’s no chance he wins a decision in MSG.

Cotto has looked great in the last two years. He even looked good against Floyd Mayweather. He gave Floyd more trouble than anyone has ..probably ever.It was the first time you felt Floyd was in a real fight.I just don’t see what Trout can do to walk out with a win.He probably won’t KO Cotto and most likely won’t outbox him badly enough to win a decision. He will have to win most rounds and at least get a knockdown or two and he STILL might get screwed on the cards. No offense to Trout because I do like him but if you look at his undefeated record, you realize he has fought no one significant. His biggest win was against Delvin Rodriguez.

I see Cotto winning a decision in a ho-hum kinda fight.Cotto will win some rounds,Trout will win a few too.But never will Cotto be in real danger of losing and the focus will almost immediately turn to a Cotto-Canelo fight for Cinco De Mayo.
